Artillery strikes from the Myanmar Military have hit civilian villages, causing more than 3000 people to flee, with an estimated 7 casualties and many more injured in the assaults according to reports.
We are urging the Australian Government and United Nation to prevent the bloodshed of civilians, procure peace, and secure democracy in Myanmar.
The Karen people are an ethnic group who settled along the Thai-Burma border approximately 1,500 years ago. Like many other ethnic groups in Burma, the Karen people face ongoing hostility from the Burmese military, the Tatmadaw. For over 70 years the Karen have defended their homeland, their families and their culture.
